I thought about zincing those header heat shields also. But it felt like there is something inside them between the plates so I painted them. Those turned out nice I assume?

They looks like brand new now... it's true that feels rare those header heat cover inside but I took the risk, maybe is just double.face..., but they look awesome

And the expensive part of the project already start. Ordering parts to have everything when the axles and chassis are ready.
Also I send few parts to zinc... they look like new now

The company name is Reikko... we use that for the machines that we build so when we have free space I put some of my stuff there

Yesterday, finally I get out the axles from chassis, so I'm ready to bring it to sandblast , next step, disassemble the axles for the same job

I have also noticed that the acid goes to tighter spaces than zinc or water. What I mean is that in the case of double layer sheet metal there can be some leftovers of acid inside and during time it can corrode through. But lets not paint devils on the wall as we say in Finland and the parts look outstanding.

One tip for the axles. Sandblast them before dismantling. That way you dont get sand where it does not belong. I sandblasted them with tires on and after that I dismantled and blasted leftovers if needed as separate parts.

That's a good tip, last time I disassembled first and I was like 3 hours cleaning the sand

Not much in this last days, I had to travel because of work... but, this trip give me the opportunity to found this Im here until saturday morning so if anybody wants one of this, send me a msg, its 9€ I couldn't reject the temptation

Finally Im back in Finland.... so I made a short visit today on the sand blast place. at least its ready the sand blast an they should start to weld soon. not in hurry but as soon as possible
Only the rear side is what most suffer in this frame...

More parts just arrives
New oem dust cover , sand blasted front axle, rubbers for the rear springs and the stabilizer bar link, just missing the brake disc and maintenance on calipers (I have already the kit for those).

Not much to said, lot of traveling because of work, but the last one brings me to USA, so I take the chance and I order parts from Classic Cruiser to my hotel .
Looks like brand new parts from an old body.
So starting to get parts for fixing the body in winter.
I went Australia too, and I get a bad surprise, not so much 60 series parts there, mostly 40/45/70 /80. But the convoys of Land Cruisers there are simply wow....

Finally I got the parts, they looks really good so just waiting to come back home and see how to proceed.
I got one weekend off here in USA so with my colleague drive true 4 states Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Utah only for visit the Landcruiser Museum Heritage.
I must say that every cruiser head should put that place on the bucket list.
It's amazing, no words to describe that place.

Today I got a bit of time between work so I start to cut and cut and cut , I order metal plate so I can start with the inner fenders and a bit more
I guessed wrong, it's harder , but not impossible so I will continue with this the rest of this .... month... winter.... year... let's hope that is finished at some point.

It's been a long time without movement. Was to long this winter to work on the Toy, Life circumstances bring the car back home so now is moving a little bit more than before.
What I have done:
Frame is ready, sand blasted, welded, hot zinc and painted
Front and rear axle ready. (missing the hubs)
I zinc all the bolts that I find, pipes and hinges etc etc etc.
Firewall remove the paint an re painted.
Engine finally after many hours is clean, same the transmission, only missing the crankshaft seal that goes on the transmission side.
Now that weather is good I start to grind a lot, weld and paint.
Buy the body mounts with the bolts OEM to see if that push me to move faster
